Organizer Obama did what?

Michelle Malkin gave a partial rundown on Barack Obama’s organizer days in Chicago and now The New Republic adds some more information. Obama was a little upset about the GOP and said they were disrespecting organizers everywhere –not so - They were specifically talking about Obamas experience as an organizer.

In late October 1987, Barack Obama and Jerry Kellman took a weekend off from their jobs as community organizers in Chicago and traveled to a conference on social justice and the black church at Harvard. During an evening break in the schedule, they strolled around campus in their shirtsleeves, enjoying the unseasonably warm weather. Two-and-a-half years earlier, Kellman had hired Obama to organize residents of Chicago’s South Side. Harvard Education fund- IBD Editorial

In an interview earlier this year on New York’s all-news cable channel NY1, the 88-year-old Sutton made some interesting revelations about his relationship with the young Obama. He told NY1 reporter Dominic Carter on “Inside City Hall” that he was introduced to Obama by a friend raising money for him. Iraq Troop deaths down, Chicago deaths up

A city like Chicago has a high crime rate, and I’m not sure how it compares to other cities, but local Channel 2 news report in Chicago states that Chicago had 125 deaths by shooting over the summer while troops in Iraq had 65 deaths for that same period of time: Memorial Day to Labor Day.
