Sometimes you have to read them…
I resigned myself to reading some liberal blogs today. Though I tire of their rhetoric, it’s a necessary activity to see what’s going on in their world. I started with Huffpo- and found them salivating over one little remark attributed to John McCain. This might be a good thing, if they’re threatened by what he says, and they largely ignore the fact the news media said the same, it must mean what he says is important to them.
Then I went over to Daily Kos to see how they were getting on. There was moaning and growing about a lame article describing the Netroots Nation meeting where people (might have) swooned for Al Gore. [must be something in the water] Someone made a reference to Nancy Pelosi as D-Beijing. Interesting stuff, but not very.
We should thank the NYT for refusing to accept John McCains article. Because of this more people have read it and its been confirmed that the press is biased in favor of Obama.

U.S. President and Iraq PM agree on a “time horizon” on troop reduction ![]()

The U.S. President George W. Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki have agreed to set a “time horizon” for reducing U.S. forces in Iraq, despite Bush’s long opposition to deadlines for troop withdrawals.
But White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said Friday any reduction in the US force presence “would be based on continued improving conditions on the ground and not an arbitrary date for withdrawal.”
I didn’t find any other news report on this topic. [found it]
US, Iraq Seeking Troop Cut Timetable

(WASHINGTON) — The United States and Iraq have agreed to seek “a general time horizon” for deeper reductions in American combat troops in Iraq.
…being discussed would not be “an arbitrary date for withdrawal.”
Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki talked about the timing issue as part of discussions over a broader security agreement to keep American troops in Iraq after a U.N. mandate expires on Dec. 31.

A Palestinian in a mechanical digger has rammed traffic in west Jerusalem, injuring at least 10 people before being shot dead, Israeli police say.
“The latest attack took place in a busy part of central West Jerusalem, close to the King David Hotel where US presidential candidate Barack Obama will be arriving within hours.”
Obama rock star tour
In his foreign tour, Obama states that he still wants to withdraw troops in 16 months- and beef up troops in Afghanistan.
Surge question:
“I believe the situation in Iraq is more secure than it was a year and a half ago. Success depends on how you define it. [still won’t admit he was wrong about the surge]
As for General Petraeus he does not want a timetable. He wants maximum flexibility. But his responsibility is not to think about how we can use some of the $10 billion/month to shore up U.S. economy. If I’m president, that IS my responsibility.”
[translation: "You're not the boss of me, Petraeus."]
My opinion: I don’t believe Barack Obama will keep General David Petraeus on in Iraq if he is elected POTUS, and I’m not sure Petraeus would want to be constricted (severely) by a man who has never even met with his foreign relations committee, preferring his own 300 advisers instead. (most of whom appear to be pro-Palestinian)
Petraeus proved Obama wrong about the surge. Obama barely acknowledged Petraeus when he testified in Washington, except to question him. He never met with him privately when he was in Washington- generally showed no interest.
Obama kept quiet when Moveon.org coined the name “General Betray-us.” If you’re thinking of becoming a commander-in- chief – the least – the VERY least you can do is stand up for your team. Obama didn’t do it, his base would not have approved and perhaps Obama needed their financial support. (still does)
What’s wrong with this picture?? The GREAT SEAL of OBAMA IS MISSING!
Random thoughts: I’m reminded of what one article said about Chicago. [paraphrasing] “When you’re flying over Chicago at 30,000 ft, you can’t see the dirt or smell the stench.”
Pajamas Media weighs in saying that Obama has made up his mind, so the “fact-finding” tour was about finding facts to support his views. http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/obamas-fact-fudging-mission-in-iraq/
Obama arrived in Iraq on Monday for what is described as a fact-finding mission. However, it’s hard to believe Obama is actually searching for facts in Iraq, nor will the facts he finds change his position. The position he chose for himself, as well as all the comments he has made so far about Iraq, reflect a disregard for facts, and there is no reason to expect a change now.
