An Obama ad says he has a “fast track alternative” to imported oil. Actually, it’s a 10-year proposal with no guarantees.

Summary

Obama released a national ad saying he has “fast-track alternatives” to imported oil. On closer examination, those turn out to be his proposal to spend $150 billion over the coming decade on energy research. Ten years doesn’t sound all that “fast” to us, and there’s no guarantee that the research will result in less oil being imported.

AL GORE WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR 30 YEARS?

Al Gore has a 10 year plan too – he wants you to get on the bandwagon for global warming. Make sacrifices !!! BUT when has Congress ever sacrificed??

As I expressed in an earlier post – the technology for both electric and hybrid automobiles have been around for a long time. The push for clean air and energy has been around for several decades..

What kept Congress for getting involved then? Could it have been the big auto makers? After all they are in a big slump now…suppose they had jumped on the band wagon for hybrids in 1970 something when the technology was offered….or in 1978 with hydrogen fuel. May I suggest that the automobile manufacturers lobbyied Congress to keep the gas guzzlers we have today.

I am all for the combustion engine- keeping it would mean faster acceptance by the public and elimination of those big fuel cells. The infrastructure could withstand the changes without major rebuilding.

The UK is making great strides with hydrogen fuel technology. What is holding the US back????

Obama and Al – tell us why we are so far behind. Why did we not adapt the fuel technology that was available then.

Obama – we’re not as dumb as you hope we are – some of us are not even bitter….YET.
